Universitatea de Arta din Bucuresti, institutie fondata in 1864 prin initiativa artistilor Gheorghe Tatarascu si Teodor Aman, este cel mai important institut de invatamant artistic superior din Romania. Perioada de studii este de 4 ani, existand posibilitatea a urmarii cursurilor de specializare in cadrul studiilor de master (de 2 ani). Structurata in trei facultati (Facultatea de Arte Plastice; Facultatea de Arte Decorative si Design; Facultatea de Istoria si Teoria Artei) acopera cele mai diverse specializari (de la design, moda la ceramica, arta murala; de la pictura, sculptura la istoria si teoria artei, la foto/video ) Universitatea de Arta isi propune sa fie deschisa schimbarilor cerute de integrarea noastra europeana, incepand cu anul 1998 s-a trecut la sistemul european de credite transferabile.
