SCURT ISTORIC

In 1855, si-a deschis cursurile si Scoala pentru Invatatura Veterinara. Invatamântul agronomic si cel veterinar au evoluat in paralel spre forme tot mai ample, in corelatie cu nevoia crescânda de specialisti in domeniul cresterii plantelor si animalelor, cu dezvoltarea stiintelor fundamentale si de specialitate din cele doua domenii.

Titulaturile sale au fost pe rând:
Scoala Superioara de Agricultura de la Herastrau (1915),
Academia de Inalte Studii Agronomice (1929),
Facultatea de Agronomie - integrata Scolii Politehnice din Bucuresti (1938),
Institutul Agronomic Bucuresti (1948) - In 1952, cu ocazia centenarului mortii marelui patriot Nicolae Balcescu, i s-a atribuit institutului numele acestuia.
Universitatea de Stiinte Agronomice (1992)
Universitatea de Stiinte Agronomice si Medicina Veterinara (1995).

The only way to become familiar with the names and uses of veterinary instruments is by repeatedly viewing them ? the kind of hands-on proficiency that simple textbook descriptions can't provide! Veterinary Instruments and Equipment: A Pocket Guide is an innovative resource designed to help students master veterinary instrument identification, as well as being a helpful aid when taking instrument inventory in the veterinary office. This flip-book method helps readers memorize and quickly identify instruments at a glance, with a photograph or illustration of the instrument on the top page, and a full description of the instrument on the bottom page ? including its name, function, and key characteristics. The picture of each instrument makes an ideal flashcard that readers can use to quiz themselves or others. The latest news in agronomy: "mini-designer vegetables and fruits." Israeli agronomists have developed "bite size zucchinis, baby artichokes, Tinkerbell peppers . and personal sized seedless watermelons" as well as mini-cucumbers and dwarf tomatoes, which are even smaller than cherry tomatoes. These new designer fruits and veggies appeal to younger snackers, single shoppers and the elderly. There are 4,000 vegetable growers in Israel. Twenty-five percent of the country's agricultural exports are vegetables. ("Honey, they shrunk the salad!" Israel 21c, June 1, 2005)
